Born in the Abitibi region in the province of Quebec, Caroline Fafard is the first white child to inhabit the wild territories of the James Bay. As a growing child she fills her free time drawing and contemplating nature. Single child from adventurous parents, Caroline quickly learns to adapt to change and to develop bonds easily with people and her surroundings. Today, the love for nature, of changes of scenery, of freedom, and of fascination for people remains in Caroline ‘s heart and it is at the essence of her artwork.
After having travelled extensively, Caroline graduates in 1993 with a degree in Teaching Fine Arts. A prolific artist, she leads a double career both in creating and teaching.
Caroline’s paintings are found throughout various art galleries in the province of Quebec as well in national and international collections. Her unique style is easily recognizable and in constant evolution.
Caroline Fafard’s paintings are filled with femininity and contradictions. Rich colors, depth, and well-depicted curved lines abound creating a mood of softness and constant movement.
The majority of her paintings represent human interaction and Love in all its forms. Feelings and moods are forever captured portraying and projecting the subtle bonds between beings.
Caroline strongly believes that art should not follow a trend or an artistic movement but rather come from the heart and represent the soul and personality of the artist
